There is a tackle shop right next to my fire station, I try to aviod it because of the damage it causes to my bank account but this morning I could not resist. I went in looking for some tackle for Albion. I havent seem them before but they looked bad ass :smt007 I bought two 5oz Shimano Lucanus, there $15 a piece :smt009 so im hoping they work! I just wanted to  know if anyone has used them and how they worked for them.

Thanks

O boy, you're gonna be crying when you snag up. Those things are pricey.
Try and find the imitation ones. They're half the price and just as good.
Unfortunately I don't think they work at Albion tho :smt003

According to Shimano you need a new rod and reel to fish it. I bit pricey for my liking. They look ok though.

I have used them for the past 5 years. Have caught ling, cab, rockies, calico, yellowtail, grooper, etc. The imitations don't work as good imo. The trick is a very slow retrieve and not to set the hook. If you are prone to setting the hook, you will miss many fish and need lots of extra skirts.
And... Yes ... They work everywhere ;0)

They look rad and I know they work but $15 each is a deal breaker. Outdoor pro shops had an imitation they sold as a 5 pack in different weights. I forget how much they were.

Tackletour did a review on them if you wanna look it up.i used them with mix results.i found that casting them out a slow cranking them back will get bit.i like the 3oz in shallower water cause it doesn't hang up as easily.they do catch fish are they worth the 15$ price tag that's arguable.but I found that most of the time when it got snag I was able to work it back out.i have 3-5-7oz
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

I bought one and donated it to the ocean floor somewhere near Timber Cove last year.  I was very productive but easy to snag if there's any current.  I have one of the "knock-offs" but it hasn't worked well for me.

Waste of hard earned moneyI think
For the price you can get hammers and a couple of jig heads that will reel in the sane fish.

I have a few and found out there are much cheaper and more effective ways to catch fish. I wouldn't waste time or money on them. They tend to catch fisherman more then fish. Lol

I also used it once and snagged it the very same day. Very heartbreaking when it was a $17 jig. Also adding, I did just as well after with chunks of squid :p
