You don't need tons of experience Vic. Ricci won three years ago staying inside the inner bay. Come on. Do it.

I am looking to do my first ocean tournament this year and this one looks like a good choice. I am thinking about bringing my son. I am wondering if the conditions would be safe. If he went he would use my Tarpon 100 and he doesn't own a wetsuit. Is the inner area reasonable for limited safety gear?

Thinking about coming to this event for the first time. Can someone tell me where I can find the scoring rules for this event. I also noted that the dates of the 25,26,27 are all three dates part of the tournament? Thanks

It's the ocean and it's cold. Shit happens anywhere at any time. Be safe and don't put the rest of us at risk if it hits the fan and we need to help your son out. My opinion.

Also, it can get turned up inside too. Did you see the waves that took out the docks?

Yes shit happens anywhere, anytime. We take risks every time we go out. The question was, is it a reasonable risk. It sounds like you are saying it is not. I have no desire to put my son or anyone else in unreasonable risk, hence the question here. I read some earlier posts describing the inner area as good for someone without any ocean experience. I just needed more info about the conditions so I could make an informed decision about how dangerous it was. It seems to me that asking the question here, instead of on the water, is being as safe as is possible. No?
