The tournament is on Saturday July 26th. You may start fishing anytime on the morning of the 26th. Fish check will stop at 2 PM this year. Please be in line by 2Pm at the latest. No fish will be weighed late. The rules are the same as last year. There are 5 fish on the specie list. Salmon, rockfish, lingcod, greenling and cabezon. Of these five specie you may retain 3 to weigh in. No duplicate specie in the bag. Your score is total weight of your 3 fish. In addition to the regular five there is always a guest specie on the card. This changes every year. This year it is Dungeness Crab. The biggest Dungeness measure from side to side wins $100.00 cash and a plaque from Sean/ Piscean All children qualify to be a part of the special Dungeness prize.

Example: 22 lb. salmon, 10 lb. lingcod, 4 lb. rockfish. Score:  36lbs.

It is your responsibility to know and abide by the DFW rules and regulations. Know your depth limits and length limits. Know your specie restrictions. If you catch a Chinook salmon on rockfish gear you must release it. It should not be brought aboard for pictures. Know the difference between a Coho and a Chinook. Any failure to follow the DFW rules explicitly will result in immediate disqualification. I would rather hear questions on the radio about fish than bringing in questionable fish. Be smart.

You should have a radio on your person. All Coast Guard rules are in effect. Try to buddy up if possible, Especially if the weather is up and conditions are less than ideal. If you are relatively new to fishing on the ocean I would suggest fishing in the inner bay until you feel more confident. Being extremely inebriated on the water while fishing will not be tolerated. You put yourself and others in harms way. If I find out someone is drunk and needs to be rescued they will not be allowed to attend the event in 2015. Please at least have a PFD with you as per Coast Guard regulations. Have a compass on hand. Have fun!

The registration, awards and potluck area will be smoke free. This includes cigarettes, cigars, weed, campfires. Off the charts drunkeness will not be tolerated here either. Its not good for families with kids to have the children subject to profanity or irrational behavior. If someone is breaking the event site rules I would appreciate them quietly being told by peers to knock it off. There will be no firearms in the event site. I would prefer that no one brings firearms to the event but that goes beyond my scope of jurisdiction.  We like to have fun. We love to share food and fishing.

Above all treat each other well. I look forward every year to seeing all you. Get those registrations and waivers in please. Any comments or questions are welcomed right here. Thanks, Craig

No campfires? Seriously? It is freezing over there at night.

Marv you can make pizza. Cooking fires are cool. We just had a smoldering campfire a couple years ago that was kind of nasty.

Krusty Of course you can burn anything you want in your campsites. Just the event site. People didn't want their kids around cigarettes and dope being smoked. Trying to make it cool for everyone is tough sometimes. I have nothing against any of it. Just thinking of the kids and the parents. Trying to honor their requests.

Sorry didn't realize the smoke restriction was limited to the event area - I mistakenly thought it was across all campsites.

Geezus! So much ambiguity. And the rules are so strict!
So I can't be a drunken idiot and force others to smell whatever I feel like burning with total disregard to their senses??
Oh the humanity!!!

I have to apologize to some new folks to this event. The actual tournament is on July 26th. Saturday. I just stupidly assumed that all would know this by now.  You may start fishing anytime in the morning and be back for weigh-in no later than 2 PM. If you are in line at 2 PM I will weigh your fish. If you show up at 2:10 it ain't gonna happen. I am extending the time this year because I feel like it would be better for those trolling as that eats time up.

One other thing I want all to know. I may have to adjust the cash prizes according to attendance. I have a bare minimum of registrations to fill. I also may expand the places from the top three to more if funds allow. It takes money to run this event. Even if we get 100 anglers at 25.00 per person that only leaves 750.00 to run the event. That would be close, real close to not paying for itself.

Would anglers like to see the money more spread out? I would consider this if the majority would like it.

I don't think I will be anywhere near the top 3 but I would still leave it as is paying out to the top 3.
