ALBION and CELL SERVICE.......

Anyone know how good the cell service, if any, is at Albion?
Not for me, but someone who might come up from So Cal needs to know.
Thanks in advance to all you cell phone owners...whoever you might be. 

I dont know about cell service, but internet service is fantastic! Email?

Maybe consider Skype or google talk via a smart phone on the wireless network there.   Verizon did not work for me last year.

The wife, son and I use Verizon, Sprint and AT&T.  None of them worked at Albion for us. Skype worked with the camp wifi.

+2 on Verizon, although for some reason  we were able to receive (receive only) Text messages

Never able to get service at Albion. cell phone service that is.

No ATT service for me but the wireless internet access in the campground worked well.

+1 with viber.  Used it from a remote island in PI to show my daughter how nice the island was.  I could not believe how clear it was and free too.  As long as the wifi connection is good you should be able to talk or text.  Even does video.

No Verizon at the campground, but there is a spot by the store up the hill or if you head north on 1 about 2 miles there is a stand of eucalyptus where I usually catch about 4 bars.

i dont think the wifi there could handle the strain of a ton of people skyping at once, so probably best to keep it limited if you can.  i usually just send texts through google talk while i'm there.  i do get decent reception up top, but down in the valley of albion its kind of a dead spot, as you could imagine from the terrain.

WiFi works great..I am typing from the camp grounds. Had dinner and dessert with people I met last year at The Albion Open (rv'ers)...shared smoked salmon and they shared cobbler and their camp fire...SWEET!
