Is it wise to bungee cord a game clip with your catch off the side of your yak while in the ocean?

Shouldn't yo be concerned about the landlord or a big old furbag coming up on you in a harbor and flipping you?

Me I prefer to put a burlap 'diaper' in the front hatch of my revo and lay my clip on that...

Just sayin...

i have been OTW a couple of times now when someone paddles/pedals up to me to show off their TROPHY catch, when all of a sudden, their clip had vanished!
Dont use a bungie or any thin type of rope on your clip. Even having two ways of securing it is best.

The snatch&flip fubag has already happened.

Game clip covered with wet burlap. I dip 'em a few times to cool'em off and recover with wet burlap.
I also carry two game clips, one for a stringer the other is to land fish if it ever comes to that. Usually it's Rockies on one and ling on the other.

I do have my game clips bungied to a padeye in the rear tankwell. I do this so if I yard sale or my game clips slips out I can easily retrieve it. Using bungie vs rope also allows me to use less and still be able to bring around to my front to put fish on a little easier.

I Never leave it hanging in the water though.

Two clips on thin nylon rope. One on each side. Tied to either the seat strap or my milk crate.  Rope long enough to toss clips into rear well furbags are a greater risk than the landlord if you float your fish and then there is the drag created.  If worried about blood in the water put a white restuarant bucket in your milkcrate.  It will hold a clip full of large rcokfish.  Use a cup or empty water bottle to scoop cold water into the bucket.

To me it depends on location and duration...
I used to clip, but after having drive-by's from the landlord and giant hungry furbags I prefer to bag it. known haulouts and sketchy remote places....;)
If you don't like chumming and like a better quality of fish you can't beat a bag with ice.

I had a furbag grab my stringer and flip me at shelter Cove. I've used a game bag since then. A stringer inside a burlap sack should work.
