Just thinking out loud.....

Been around NCKA for a long time now and been loving it! And as we all know, the "FAMILY" is continually growing and so are the Potlucks (not complaining here). I'm just simply suggesting that maybe we can try  considering being a little more environmentally friendly. Maybe we can make an effort to start using less plastics during the events. Basically, the less trash we leave behind, the better. PLEASE RECYLE :smt045

just some ideas to consider:

- bring your own drink mugs, plates and utensils.
- instead of water bottles, bring a large Jug full of water

....any other suggestions are welcome = please post!

Thank you.
Joel / Mooch

Dig out those cafeteria trays!!!! We will be sportin' ours (then you won't even need a table to eat at. Think of the food you could pile on that bad boy!!!)  :smt005 We bring utensils when we potluck. Like Mooch, we try to conserve and pack in and out less... (except for the food! The more the better!!!!)  :smt044 :smt044 :smt044

We use lexan utensils. They kind of look like plastic and are as light as plastic but super tough and durable. Dishwasher safe. Not something to be thrown away.
I'm bringing a cookie pan for my plate.
Somebody please roll me back to my campsite.

I always have my mess tray with my camp gear, (May not always break it out to use), but, I have it.  Really can't beat those trays, they hold a ton of food, clean up easily, and mine, being SS, is pretty much indestructible!

Great idea.
I have heard this before and made an effort to reduce the trash including plates, cups  and utensils but little by little those plates, cups and plastic forks make their way back into my trailer.

OK I will go get some plates and cups, I may already have enough in the garage.

Mooch's wisdom are words to live by  :smt002  I got my first plastic fork from Glen this weekend, and kept it in my pocket the whole time.  Sara and I shared plates and food with SCTrace too!  :smt002    I'm also very happy to use a Brita Water Bottle when out and about, instead of buying cases of bottled water.  Can fill it with any water source, and tastes like bottled water!
