Linda Mar Saturday 7/22

I launched off the beach in my Zodiac at around 9:00.  From a distance, I could see what seem like a dozen kayakers and skiffs working different areas of the cove and at the reefs.  The swells and waves were low (~3 foot breakers)  and the weather was beautiful. I headed straight for the reefs and found half a dozen guys working there. Got a underling on a half anchovie on the 2 or 3rd drop.  Later, I got a couple small blues and used one for bait, but lingzilla didn’t bite.  Fish were biting, but slow. 

 I motored a little north of the reef, thinking I’ll drift right onto it.  I caught a good size starry flounder instead on the flats.  21 inch and about 3 1/2  lbs.       I was wondering what I got on the line when reeling it in.  It was heavy but it didn’t pull like a ling.  I thought I got a large gopher or china cod or something.   I caught another sand sole there and that was it.

Water condition wasn’t bad but I got sea sick anyway.  I called it quit after paying my dues a few times.  The ginger pills and hand bands didn’t work for me today.
