I have switched to irons only and it is paying off,  7 lb. ling, and a nice sugar bass, 28 fish released between myself and one other yakker.

If I'm not mistaking... Spanish Bay is down by Pebble. I always wondered how the fishing would be down there...

I looked Spanish Bay up on Google and there were places called that in the Carribean and Florida as well as down by Pebble Beach, Monterey.

Good report.

Nice fish!  How was the launch?  Every time I see that beach, usually from my bicycle riding by in the afternoon, it looks very rough, even surfable.  Where did you launch?

It would only be about a 2 mile paddle from Coral St.  I spend a lot of time in that general area . .and there are sometimes other places you could launch from.

Please tell us you surf launched from Spanish Bay, though - that'd be epic (and crazy! at least anytime I've seen it.  Surfable?  More like Victory At Sea!)

I have fished their a couple of times and launch thought the surf at the north end of beach...thought the rocks. :smt003 the surf was very small. I have gotten a few halibut and rockies. i was also told that big salmon like this area (about mile out)

the funny thing is that same day i fished off point poinos (out on the water around 10) and was blown off by sw wind, fog, current!. i was up early and down at Andrew moleara and the same thing happen :smt011 should of just went to pacific valley...
