Your story from the other day hooked me:  I am all set to get there early (5-5:15) tomorrow.  I just have to clear room in my freezer for some pink meat!  Looks like the wind will come up and clock around from W to NW at about 10:30-11:00, and there will be a little bit of fading swell.

Lost a beautiful salmon at the net yesterday.  It hurt but feels good knowing they are around.  Gonna hit it again Saturday morning early.  Hopefully have some company this time.  I'll be there around 5am setting up.

Let's get em guys!

Josh
Alright, salmon in the neighborhood! Maybe will get a fish or two this season after all

Was prepping myself for a long offshore haul, maybe won't be necessary

Just have to figure out how to work some fishing time in around my boy's insane summer camp schedule

Thanks for the good news

What a season

Just the fact there's a fish or two in close is encouraging though

Somebody got one inside the bay but said its jelly city

Saturday in Monterey was a beautiful day. Met up with Josh and Tom at 5am.  We were paddling out by a quarter till.  While they trolled for Salmon, I trolled Rapalas for T sharks.  Not too surprising I didn’t even get a strike, but I’m on a mission. Trolled around the buoy until about 10 and then headed to the kelp to find dinner.

I recently picked up some Scampi style baits from Bud aka Jigstrike.  Nice solid hooks on a unique head shape, and good firm bodies with sparkles. I Got a nice Cab on the first drop in about 60 fow.  Several more Rockies, and three Lings.  I kept the last Ling of the morning and headed home by 12. It was a great day in Monterey.  I really like that side of the bay.

Tom and Josh: It was nice meeting you both.  I heard there is another group of Salmon moving in, lets do it again.

Not a rocky or ling to be found though... I think they were hungover or something.
