FYI.

They are picking up Halibut in Crissy Field and Paradise (30 feet).  The source is from friends who fished on different charter boats (Morning Star, Bass Tub).  The Crissy Field location is easy kayak country but you will have to paddle up tide and drift down with the tide, use live bait.  The spots are in front of the Yacht Club in less than 20 feet all the way down to the old Coast Guard station.  Would go fishing but work, work and more work.  The weekend means family time...  Fishing is just a dream for now.

Adam,

I have a window tomorrow from daybreak to around noon and will try the Richmond South Hampton area for the butts.  I know there are always a lingering few in the area and most of the boats are out the GG looking for the Salmon so there should be little traffic.  I'm going to try and launch from Richmond Marina behind the beach/breakwall area.  I'm going to try to keep it simple and drag the standard gear the boats use (3way, Flasher, Herring with J-Hook slip and Treble stinger).  I still have not developed the castiron arse to do more than a 2~3 hours on the yak.

Luis,If you want to launch from a spot that is a stones'-throw away from the END of the Rockwall.Go through the Tunnel(old Richmond Plunge)at Pt.Richmond.You will come out of tunnel and to the right,Miller/Knox Regional Park, drive straight past grassey-picnic area/lake and go til the Rd.veers left. There is parking lot and restrooms(Old Ferry Pt.)nice little beach only 100"from lot! :smt004 I marked fish along the inside/protected side of wall.If you are familliar w/S.Hamp area? The "BING-bouy?" is not that far 2mi.?and the wind looks down.Good luck!wish I could join ya'(work mon-fri off@3:30)near Rich.Marina.If planned,an afterwrk. trip is doable. There are a lot of local areas that need to be "reconed"and the FALL Striper Run is around the corner. So many choices! :smt010 Post your findings, and we need to "REPRESENT"the N.East-Bay NCKA!lets Hook-up and Hunt some fish!
