More than one way to organize and store the poles - saw this in a store in Bodega Bay - it's now been added to my "to do" list.

That has got to be the least expensive way I have seen to hold rods overhead for storage.

Just started on the custom cabinets for my home office (aka tackle room).  Got the first of a few car loads of red oak today at lunch.  Can't wait to start sharing pics.  Had planned on adding a wall mounted rod rack but I may have to go celiling since the room is only 12 x 12 & the only available wall for rods has a large 6' long metal fish sculpure I did hung on it.

One "tip" to consider is alternating the open tubes for the "closed" tubes IF you plan on leaving the reels on.  This way you can alternate the rods/reels & place them a biut closer together THUS you can buy more rods.  Always add extra tubes so you can tell the wire that the other rods are lonely & need more friends.

Not trying to rain on the parade, but this rack is not for long term storage :0(
If left for long term, the rods will get a set (perm bend).
Hate to see ya ruin your favorite rods.

Depending, if you were to use some sort of clip in the center, you could eliminate that problem.

Took a couple of hours if that.  (2) 6ft long 1x3s, (1) 5ft long 2" diameter PVC, and (18) screws.  Measured 4" from the end and positioned the PVC hangars every 8" which allows for 9 rods to be hung.  Cost about $10.
