Greetings from mill valley. I am brand new to the area and to the sport of kayak fishing.  I am looking for reviews on the pro angler 14' and any helpful hints about how to make right purchases in equipment.
I will spend the summer renting and asking questions.

My other hobby is BBQ.  When I lived in south Carolina, I owned a small BBQ catering business. It was called Indian outlaw BBQ.

WTTM! Renting several different yaks is the best way to find exactly what you like/ dislike. I can't wait to try some of that BBQ at one of the get-togethers!!! Another way to check out every type of yak out there (well almost), is to go to the Albion 2013 event.

Here is the link for it. It is one of the best events to attend. Of course there is a huge potluck on tourney day!

Worked with the Dene (Navajo) Nation in New Mexico for 3 years to address obesity and diabetes. Much learned and total respect for our AI/AN brothers and sisters. Missed the mother's day pow wow at Standford this year but usually go every year. Welcome!!!

Welcome aboard!  What do you like to fish for?  Are you primarily a freshwater guy or Salt?  Both?  The Pro Angler is a pretty awesome fishing vessel, but keep in mind there are a bunch of options out there so keep an open mind.

Now about BBQ'ing...  I've been thinking about buying a Tejas Smoker, know anything about them?  What kind of smoker do you use?  We're a bunch of carnivores around here, glad you found us.  :smt003

Thanks for the welcome!
I have been in BBQ groups where folks used the tejas smokers. I like them. When looking for a smoker, just make sure that your pit is 1/2 to 3/4 inch steel.  Also check for smoke leaks out of the doors... Smoke loss is flavor loss. The only smoke should come out of the stack and not the doors (mho)
My smoker is a custom made Gator Pit. It is a trailer pull behind... Perfect for events!!!
I look forward to meeting, fishing, and eating BBQ with you all.
