i wont be out there on saturday but i might make a sunday trip after church. church gets over at about 1130-1200 so i will see if i can make it out of the house and meet you out there. how big is the port? i have never been there and also is there a lot of ship traffic as far as swells being made and having to dart out of the way or whatever...

The port is huge yet small **enters the lotus position, begins to chant ooommm** no really there is essentially one (easy) access to the whole big area, and I have been fishing there a year or two (living by it 7) and don't think I have ever seen a ship under power in the basin?

Here is (by FAAAAR) the best post ever done on our Port

I have been meaning to try the catching-my-own-bait then drifting the bait trick, I think I might bring my QRAS and give that a try under one of those docks. I always fall back on black bass fishing because I can usually catch black bass with a spinnerbait or a rapala, time to get out of my comfort zone and get some bigger fish! :smt003

The parking area is pretty secure believe it or not. You need to wheel or carry your yak to the water past the gate down the ramp. Which gate? The one to the parking lot, or the one to the water?

The gate at the ramp is always locked. You either need to wheel down your kayak or carry it down with a partner.

The area that has the word "NUTS" spray painted on the road super big just before the gate. Lol.
