What's up NCKA?

I'm going to be out at Muir Beach next Saturday, June 22 for a "last hurrah" of the crab season. I plan to show up at about 7:00 AM to rig up before the gate opens around 7:30ish. I'll be dropping crab pots, and then doing some fishing in the general vicinity of the cove. Halibut and rockfish will be the target species. I'll probably be in my old blue Scrambler XT. I want to dial in my new Outback before I start trying to crab from it.

My girlfriend and a few buddies will be hanging out on shore, so I won't be venturing very far from the launch. This will be a pretty mellow morning with a few runs back in to shore for snacks, beer, drop off crabs, etc, etc.

Anyone else interested?

No need to set any plans in stone. I'll be out there either way, so just swing by and say HI if you see me!

~Alex

I'm a relative newbie, but if I can swing it I'd love to drop by and tag along.

Jweb - More the merrier! How are you with surf launching and landing? Muir isn't always friendly...

Not much experience with it, but eager to get wet and practice. I've launched/landed in some pretty mellow conditions in Baja, which I know is quite different than a west facing nor cal beach... I'll keep an eye on conditions for that day, if it's not reasonably favorable you probably won't see me there.

Still on for Saturday. Weather and swell looks to be pretty nice.

Any other takers?

I'm still planning on it Alex.  My brother Rob is coming down from Sacramento too.  Hope the weather holds up.

Nice! More the merrier! One of my buddies might come out in my spare yak to help pull pots, etc. He's not an experienced kayaker, so that will depend a lot on the conditions...

If conditions don't deteriorate, I would like to join you for the rock, halibut and crab chase.

Hell yeah!

Looks like we'll have a nice little flotilla!

My freezer is running low, so I'm hoping to stock it up with some taco fixin's.  :smt013

Great Bass 2 - Lots of salmon being caught down on the Central Coast right now. They should be rounding the corner to Monterey real soon. :)
