Results:

1st place: David Fowler with 3 kokanee and a 16 inch rainbow
2nd place: Gary Charles with 1 catfish, 1 Largemouth, and 3 panfish (redears)
3rd place: SonoraMike with 3 kokanee.

Trash pickup winner: Bunny

Big thanks to Tim (Daleshark) for bringing a big cooler of water and gatorade.  During the tournament many anglers (kayakers and PBers) took refuge under our tent and avoided heat exhaustion.  Thank you Tim!

Since I didn't fish, I'll let the competitors give the fishing report.  All I can say is that I have crunched the numbers, and the kayak anglers did substantially better than the power boaters (35% more fish per hour effort).

Thanks to everyone who attended and helped out!

Skunked yet again. I took refuge under the tent during part of the weigh in. I took a few pictures of a monster catfish brought in by... (forgive me but I can't remember, sorry).

I showed up @ 5:45am to see a bunch of eager kayak anglers lined up on the boat ramp getting their kayaks and fishing gear ready to rock. :headbang:
After a short period of time they were off to the fishing grounds. Adam and I set up camp at the top of the ramp and waited patiently for a fishing report.[ the radio chat was very very quiet]
It was a beautiful day at New Melones with some nice fish being caught.
Congrats to the winners and thanks to everyone who showed up for the tourney. I had a great time.

P.S. Mikes pizza in Angels Camp has some KILLER pizza !!

Thanks,
Tim

Wow! That's a fat rainbow right there. Congrats to all the winners. Wished I could have made it but it wasn't meant to be. See you all soon.

First off a huge thanks to Jim Adam and Tim.
Started the morning off by over sleeping I set my alarm for pm not am. So in a mad rush I set off to gloryhole. Got to the ramps at 6 where all the others were already gearing up. Was just about done unloading when Adam arrived. Me and David had a plan setup already and at 6:20 we started to put in into motion. We were going strait for the spillway with no lines out if we marked a school we would drop on them. We got to the mouth of the spillway and decided we would troll the rest of the way in and if no fish were caught or schools marked we would try the back for bass. Well as soon as the downriggers were set it was hit after hit. The whole area was loaded with kokes and trout. We stayed there the whole time the bite shut off at about 9 at that was the that. We hit the cove for bass for a short time for nothing. I ended up with four  kokes in the boat 3 I weighed in and 1 dink released (shoulda kept him but oh well) 1ldr and 1 I beat off with the net. At 11 we set back towards the ramps with bio-bill and vwool rite behind us. It was not as hot as I had thought it was gonna be and didn't really get bad until about noon and by that time we were almost off the water.
Congrats to the winners David and Gary and congrats Brett on that monster trout everyone in the spillway heard the screams when ya got that beast lol. Can't wait to do it again.

I also for got sun screen but amazingly enough no sun burn.

Thanks to Adam & Tim for handling this event and for providing the life saving cold water.  Fun as usual.  Thanks to Cherie and her son Avery for the ride to Mike's pizza.  Frank and I left  MM Sunday for Pardee thinking it would be hot there also, wrong, it was around 80.  Sunday night we even put our sweats on.

Again, thanks to Adam  & Tim

Looks like everyone had a good tournament despite the weather.
Wish I could've attended.
Cool, you even got the Boy Scouts there to help measure fish! :smt001
