I recently bought a Mark-4 (grayscale version of the Elite, I believe). Havent installed it in my new Outback yet. After lots of reading, I found that many people recommend GOOPing the SD card flap shut. Apparently it can leak.

That Cabelas battery will only last one day with a color fishfinder if you wanted a battery that last 2 or 3 days its going to have to be about 3 times the size of the Cabelas. believe me I know I have a color fishfinder and it's been brutal on batteries

My cabelas battery gave me 2 days of fishing using my elite4 color ff/gps at GS7. I strongly  believe there's plenty more juice left after that. Maybe you just have a bad battery? Mines about a year old now.

Depends what you consider a full day. My full days are 10-12 hours OTW. My 768 HB with GPS will drain battery on second day on those trips. I ran my bayyety down to 8 volts one day, but FF kept working fine. I carry an extra battery or two on multiple day trips. I switch out battery on second day just so I don't have any issues. I also carry a small inverter and charger in my truck just in case I need to charge. I you only fish 6-8 hours a day you should get two days I would assume. That is with 7 AH bats.  Get in touch with FishBucket. He always has bats he is giving away. They are in perfect condition and free.

Hi Jeff.  I found this site and they seem to have good prices and free shipping.  You can choose the AH vs. weight.  Hope this helps.

yes, Rob true my " day" is way less than your "day" of fishing... haha  :smt044.... and  that is a great tip to have an extra battery, I think i may have one of those free one but is defiantly not 7Ah... it charges to 13 V but after about 4 hours its below 10V which is the current minimum on the hummingbird i have. I ended up buying this honker and we can see how it does... its 13 lbs... I also got the reccomended battery tender...  thanks again for the tips...
