New managment at Spanish Flat and Steel Park.....and FEES

Went to Steel Park today and they wanted $15 to drop a kayak in.  No more free ramp here or at Spanish Flat.

Boycott em all , Chappel Cove is free and almost as close ! Gonna pay that much might as well go to Markley as it is closer for most .

That's just crazy prices.  Camp and launch a kayak will cost you $40.  Going camping and fishing are supposed to be an affordable activity for everyone to enjoy.

I believe that the launch fee is for power boats not for kayaks.

about 5 years ago it was 20 for launching for 2 people and 5.00 for every other person with you.

That is why the free launch parking lot was full by 10:00 AM but the people on the ski and wake board boats now go to the Delta.

I hope they lower their fees when the demand is low....

Are you REALLY surprised that the prices are steep? Didn't I read somewhere that one vendor is controlling multiple locations now? Monopoly comes to mind.

I heard that Pleasure Cove is running Steele and Spanish. may ne wrong though. Seems consistent with Pleasures pricing. I hear they are going to turn Oak Shores back into a campground too sometime. Then we will lose that free launch.
