Thank you for all of the replies!  I bought the laminated folded Rockfish guide from the place in Richmond linked through the DFG website with 40 different rock fish pics, as well as the others I listed, with characteristics and info on telling which is which. This thread was to fill in the limits and rules for each one with a sharpie so I could mark the regs on each fish. Turned out to be very informative. thanks again and looking forward to reading the final write up.

This thread cleared up a lot for me. I always stopped at 8 rf, because I wanted to save room for my two lings. Cool.

I was also told that if you have salmon on board along with the RCG's,  your hooks will be checked and they better be all barbless Circle or J hooks. I've been complying with this.
Pls check n clarify.

Many thanks for this post.

Going Fishing?
Winds from the south, hook in
    the mouth.
Wind from the east, bite the least.
Wind from the north, further off.
Wind from the west, bite the
    best.

Once you have salmon on board, you must fish barbless.  You may possess barbed hooks with salmon on board, but they can't be in the water.

Uhhh ... NO.

-Allen

No minimum size on rockfish. But the smaller ones have little meat on them, so throw them back to grow bigger.
