Was out at Big Sur over the long weekend and didn't have much luck with the full moon.  The weather was beautiful, but slightly too windy making it difficult to stay in one spot and fish.  The fish also weren't the most cooperative, unlike my usual experience out there.  Got some nice shots with a new angle on the GoPro.  Check out the video report.  Caught a couple ling and a nice canary on the video.  Sweet views with fog and early am sunshine on the green coastal mountains.  I love it out there.

Do any of you guys find that the bite isn't as good during a full moon for the ground fish???  Thanks for your help.

Have a few tips in the video but they really are for amateurs I'm sure you guys are all way ahead of this stuff.  Sorry sound is not great the noise was really transmitting from the kayak to the camera.

That's a pretty cool video report, Fizishen! Thanks for sharing it. And congrats on some nice fish despite the slow bite. I've had slow days following a full moon too. But I've also had slow days during other lunar phases...so ya never know. I have heard that fish shallower than 60ft are succeptible to the commercial live fish operation in that area, so that could've factored in too.

Right on, Man!  Good for you for doing the commentary - you owe it to yourself to get better audio going on that energy.  Nice work.   :smt001

Hey I've watched lots of your videos think they're great.

What do you mean by "going on that energy"  maybe a saying I'm not familiar with?

With these GoPros they have aweful sound though especially in the water proof case.  It was too windy for the open case.  I've seen you can get mics to add on but they really don't give you much better sound per the reviews I've seen done.  Any suggestions LoletaEric.

I just meant you have good energy and you should get better audio and keep developing your speaking skills.  It takes alot to put yourself out there, but I totally encourage people to do it!

Best of luck - looking forward to the next vid.   :smt001

Nice fish and video! Makes me want to get back out for rockfish.
For audio, you could use a 2nd camera that's placed closer to you, sync them up in post and use that audio. That way you could use 2 angles, too. Yeah, it's more expensive, but high production quality is never cheap!  :smt001

Yeah I'll probably be using two cameras soon enough.... but may have to wait for the wife to get me one for my Birthday, the GoPro 3 Black.  That's the end of November  though :smt012

When not on the kayak though I use my Canon T2i which has better sound quality.  I  intend to keep making the fishing videos and they should keep getting better I hope.  Have to get my brother more involved.  We have  a great time fishing together but he's not into it as much.  He's really good with the editing part, makes them look just like a fishing show, haha!

Here is one of his videos, a great little vid if you've got a few minutes.

Cool videos. I hear that in Big Sur, you've got to get to the right spots for good fishing. The Commercial guys take most of the fish from there. You may have to paddle and do a bit more exploring before you find the good fishing holes. I've seen other vids on Youtube of guys slaying RF out there.

i grew up fishing big bear and know that spot, thanks for the memories,(born and raised in berdoo), but one comment, if you are releasing those trout, dont grab them like a bass, their jaw structure isnt strong and breaks real easy, leaving them unable to feed, other than that, great video, cameron
