I joined Fish Junky today for a day of yak fishing at Sugar Pine Reservoir.  This is a new lake for me so I got to cross it off my bucket list.  We launched at 7 this AM and peddled/paddled out to meet the enemy…..smallish planter trout.   The WX was spectacular starting at 65 and climbing to 85 with no wind to mention.  Two other motor boats plied the lake and a few other canoes and yaks joined in.  Very quiet area.  Trolling was the ticket today with Junkies fish falling to spoons trolled at 30 feet and my quarry taking nightcrawlers behind dodgers trolled at 2 colors of lead core.  A try was made with crawlers below bobbers but despite the repeated strikes the fish were too small to eat the hook.  We ended the day with Junky outfishing me 3 to1 with fish ranging from 8 to 15 ˝ inches.  A few hook swallowers were taken home to smoke.  A few photos for your approval…

I did say spectacular!

I tried out my new FF today.  Works like a charm.

One of my fish just before I cut em loose!

Love that lake! Some big bass out by the dam and on the flat on far side of the lake
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Beautiful lake!  Thanks for the report and pictures Sam.
