shad fishing on the american river

Heading out this evening June 1 out of sunrise for some shad if anyone wants to join me . Be launching around 4:30 pm and fish till sundown.

I was planning on hitting it tomorrow morning if you want to go. Same spot as last time.

I can go tomorrow just let me know what time and I will be there . Going to fish today also.

How about 6:45am tomorrow morning?

I can't today I have a wedding I have to go to in a couple hours.

Upper sunrise-This section of the river is barbless so make sure you crimp or remove the barbs on the shad darts.

Bring your wheels we will be walking up the bike trail a little ways (1/4- 1/2 mile) towards Sailor bar. If you have an anchor system bring that too. FYI- The pay booth is cash only.

Here is the place-
-Sunrise to South Bridge Street (east side of the street)
-Drive down to the end of the street until you come to the Parks pay booth
-Once you pass the park pay booth and come to the Y stay to the right
-The road will the curve to the left and there will be a gravel parking lot.

I will see you guys there at 6:45 am.

Go get em guys. Bite should be better with the increased flows. I'm going to a small lake for browns up in the mountains tomorrow but thinking of going for shad Monday after work.

Finally some flows! Its been 900-950 cfs forever. This should help to move some more Shad up.

Woot!

I have been at Howe and Watt for 5 out of the last 7 days.  The bite has been hit and miss (usually miss).  I hope the flows push up more schools!
