Was watching a news broadcast and they said that they are stocking Large trout 10-14lb trophy fish in the lake for a contest and just wanted to pass the info along. Lewiston lake is near Highway 299 west of Redding,Ca. and about 8 miles from the road sign. Some monster fish by t6he pics they showed. I'm out!

Lewiston is formed at the base of Trinity lake.  The outflow from Trinity's dam (through a small power generating station) is Lewiston lake.  I didn't have any luck there during the week we stayed at a campsite there mid lake.   This was a few yrs back thought.  One interesting about the area is the hatchery there at the end of Lewiston.  It’s a one way trip for the fish.  There is a window into the fish ladder, and we got to see some friggin HUGE fish! That completely dwarfed what I considered to be a large trout!
We got to walk along side the hatchery pools and see the various stages (sizes) of the fry.
Lake level varied by the hour!  One minute the water seemed to be up to edge, then it was down a foot, by looking at the exposed bank.  Main part of the lake, as I remember it was pretty shallow, maybe 10’ avg.  The deep part of the lake was on the other side (across from our campsite) which appeared to be the main channel.  It got to 40’ at the bend.
  It was a quiet lake.
