I noticed that after about 30mins on the water, the video quality deteriorates due to fog. I tried using rainX anti fog on the inside lens and regular rainX on the outside casing lens. I even put it in a bag of rice to suck out all moisture prior to use but doesn't really do anything. Any other tricks you guys use??

Have you tried the GoPro anti-fogging strips that you put in the case?

Have you tried it and does it really work as advertised? I've seen the product before but trying to exhaust all other home remedy options before I opt to those strips.

I'm new to GoPro-ing so my experience doesn't count for much.  However, I've been around some "professionals" that swear by them.

I'll give that a try, James. Does it totally eliminate moisture? And does the video stays clear the whole time

Trekking from Reno, over the summit, across the blistering hot valley, then back to cooler coast, I put the gopro in the ice chest. It seems to not fog when I am in the water.  If I leave it in the truck cab while traveling it fogs most times. I like the paper towel idea, I will give it a try.

Way back in the old days I'm talking 50's 60's. People used to use a bag of tobacco, to wipe the inside of windows in cars to keep them from fogging. It worked, if you have nothing try a cigarette see if that works.   That was due to temp difference as well.

You need to use the anti-fogging insert. It works.

+1 zillion  :smt044

learned this when shooting landscape pictures in the winter; I keep all my camera gear in the truck of the car instead of the warmth of the room or rv.

The anti-fog strips work well to... also RainX antifog wipes helps; plus I use regular Rainx on the outside lens to help keep water driplets off the lens....

Ok, so I finally gave in and bought those anti fog strips made for gopro. Instead of 3, I put 4 of those strips inside. Prior to that, I soaked the inside with RainX anti fog. I shut the  casing closed to be used the next day (this morning). I have to say that the fogging issue was resolved and I am happy, but a little disappointed that those strips would be needed to run a supposedly waterproof video cam. I think GoPro should make a real waterproof video cam where a casing wouldnt be needed hence eliminating the fogging problems.
