So Glad this has a happy ending...

and thanks for the wake up call...   seen many, many roll overs,  all seem to be fine with a seat belt, all without a seat belt usually dead...

Your Subaru took a massive hit there, your right about the damage and that your kayak helped, that's intense...

So glad all is well....

Thanks for posting and the reminder to stop when tired. My wife rolled her Subaru a few years ago. They take crashing well.  Glad you two are here to tell the story.

That was intense!  I've seen Subaru's in rollovers and that was the worst I've ever seen one crushed on the roof like that.  I got a Subaru for my wife especially for their roll over safety.

However, I would recommend to anyone in a vehicle accident of any consequence, getting checked out by a doctor as soon after as is practical.  A good buddy at work did the same thing; dozed off and rolled his Subaru.  He showed up an hour late in my office.  When I looked at him, he still had glass in his hair!  The CHP had given him a ride in to work.   I called his wife and took him home to get cleaned up and rest.  He too said he didn't need to see a doctor.  The next morning his wife woke up and her husband and my friend was dead.  He had some sort of internal brain bleeding that did him in.  If someone had checked him over, they would probably had noticed some problem and might have prevented his death.

I am glad you guys are OK, The drive is long and gets you tired, my friend Sonny ( Sailfish) told me to keep lots of fruit or something to eat while driving, if you keep on eating a snack when you get tired it helps to keep you awake at least for a little while till you can pull over and rest for a while.
Sorry you missed on the fun at Shelter Cove.

For me, empty bladder is key. Seriously. It's a long drive home from San Diego after 7 days on a boat, with little sleep.
