Found these at a local Wal-Mart, $17 for 2 strips of LEDs (About 12" long each) I plan to adhere them to the upper inside area of my hull at the center hatch.  Although I haven't had an opportunity to do any nighttime fishing, I will at some time, and being able to see in my hull to grab something, snack, pliers, rod whatever at night without using a blinding white light will be nice.
I may, next time I'm in that wall-mart get the white ones as well.  The LED strips have a sticky-back that you remove cover and place. They can be cut to length in 2" increments and rewired if needed.  The LED are completely incased in soft vinyl flexible case so I'm sure there waterproof, (Haven't tested that yet though)
A little silicon on the hull to help the sticky backing and I'm sure these things will stay in place for a while.  It comes with a tiny Momentary on push button switch to try them out in the store, (Little tiny 12Vdc battery box with 10 little button batteries to power them) This switch won't be used as it's not waterproof.  But eventually I'll get a waterproof switch to wire them up.  Will need to get Hobie's new battery tray as well.
Haven't determined a suitable waterproof switch location yet either.  Have some ideas but need the switch first.

Interesting ... what department @ W.M. did you find these in?  12V I am assuming?  Did they include a 12/110v converter?  I may have to go check them out tonight.  Any other color options there? (white/blue/green/red/etc...)

I got a few white LED strips like those on eBay a while back to play around with for night fishing.  During one of our power outages up here in BC it made a great light for the bathroom, and lasted 3 days on my SLA battery  :smt044  Those red ones look cool!

They are located in the automotive section near the Cell phone accessories.  Yes, there are a few different colors, blue, white, red, pink (The pink are only 4" long) I don't remember if there was Green or not, in this particular length & style, but there are green one there. (Could be Port & Stbd running lights for those that want them.  No 110vac converter for them, just a tiny battery box shown in one of the pictures (Tiny black box) Any 12VDC walwort will power them though if you need them to plug in.

Looking at adding them to my home bar & back bar.  Just found some 5m coils of them on Amazon for less than $14.  Funny how the price of LED lights varrys SO greatly.  Amazon, $14 (5m) ~ Home Depot $100 (about 5m) granted one includes the power supply, the other doesn't.

I could see housing a bit of this inside the hull & making it GLOW at night.  The color changing ones could be fun!

Very cool.  I bought several similar strips on eBay last year.  Can get 12" 12v strips in any color for less than $2.

They look great in glass shelves, inside a computer case, or I side an equipment rack.
