So these are for sailing down wind, or in a real light wind? Kinda making a jib out of your sail? I'm a novice at the sailing. I have held the sail off to one side a couple times in real light winds. I guess this would make it more efficient.

The existing Hobie design is fairly poor on downwind run because the sail will "taco" on itself.  Need some form of a very lite Whisker Pole.  Sounds like a winter project.

I went with a simpler less expensive approach, swivel harken block, carabiner and jam cleat with brass clip. I am sure they perform the same but the only way to find out is on the race course.   :smt006 I will say that at the salmon opener, I kicked Etienne's butt sailing down wind in light air and he is a veteran sailor and has the shark fin rudder.  :smt003
