Finally took the whaler out today for her first salmon outing this year. Woke up at 2am this morning and load the boat up. Left the house (San Leandro) around 2:45am and headed to the office to do some work. Arrived at the office around 3:45am. Left the office around 7:15am and headed to Half Moon Bay. Arrived at the ramp around 8:00am and set the boat up. The boat/trailer lot was almost full. Splashed her around 8:30am and set course towards 29/48 and thats about 17 miles from the Jaws. Line in around 9:15am and around 9:30am got the first fish (26") in the net. Dropped the line back down and started looking for the go home fish. Finally at around 10:15am, the go home fish (27") found the net. Both fish came on the Blue Kajiki in 65' OTW. Beautiful day out there and lots of boat out there.

Ran back in and it was like a lake out there. Arrived back at the ramp around 11:30am and there were lots of fish surveyor at the ramp jumping from boat to boat. Got home around 1:00pm and just now finished cleaning the boat/gear and the catchy. Gonna brine some for the smoker for tomorrow and the wife is going to make some Sinigang and also some fry salmon tonight for dinner. Life is beautiful and loving every minute of it. Here are some pics.

Nice catch Freddie!  Congrats!  That sinigang with fresh salmon sounds good right now.  Man I got to go out there soon.

WTG Freddie. Congrats.
I can see how sharp your fillet knife. Next time you need a deckhand, give me a howler.

Right on, Freddie. Great report. Maybe this will be the year for me to get a salmon from the yak.
