Hello,
My name is Steve. My username is slothclaw.
I'm 56 and experienced ocean angler, but new to kayak fishing. The bug has bitten and money is flying from my pockets!.This weekend, I'm taking delivery of a new Eddyline Caribbean 12'ft. Kayak and then the process of outfitting the boat and myself begins. I believe this could be the most exciting part, as I love to   watch a project come together. I look forward to gleaning as much information as I can from members and hopefully hooking up with some of you in the future.

Those Eddylines are rather awesome boats...I tried one at Crab Fest and was smittened.
Now if only I can convince my husband that it's the perfect kayak for me ......

Hi Steve, welcome to the madness.  It's good to see another North Valley guy on here.  Too bad you just missed one of our tournaments that was held at Black Butte Lake, but hope to see you on the water soon.

Thank you all for the nice welcome. I live only a few miles from Black Butte Lake and plan on putting the Caribbean through it's paces there as well as practicing self-rescues. My boat was purchased bare bones, so first order of business is to get a seat, paddle and rudder as well as a flotation vest for myself. The fishing extras will have to wait. I hope I'm able to get to the ocean this year! I will check out 'FreshKats' and see if I'm able to attend.
