Here it is folks the new Hobie battery tray. I got a second to play with one today and it pretty nice. The battery actually clips in as the holder can be used in any 8" twist and seal hatch or attached to the mast tube.

With battery, when attached to the mast post the holder sits down nice and even in the hull. Hobie did a good job with this. I do still like the battery bucket idea as its where I keep my fishing license and emergency food, stuff I don't really need access to easily but have to have on board.

Yeah...I wonder if it will fit a Pro Angler 14'. My rear hatch is very shallow.

The battery is 12v 8ahr. The tray is $14.99 I think. The battery is part of the FF install kit 2, they did just release a FF install kit 3 with tray, battery, charger, and connections. Don't have any of those in yet.

That's NICE!  $15?  I'm in for one!   That is if I don't modify my hatch tray for the rear hatch..........
How do we order them?  from Hobie directly?

I just checked out one @ windtoys in Santa Rosa. Looks cool and good price, around $15. Won't work for me though, my battery is to big. I want to install my battery in my rear hatch so I went with the large gear bucket. $5 bucks more. I could still mount it up front but I would have to take out my hatch liner. Don't want to do that.
