Andy, glad to hear your cousin is ok, even with out the bombs finishing that race race is quite an accomplishment. Wish him well when you see him. Sad and angry at the same time.

I had a friend who was running the race and was about 2 blocks from the second explosion.

What must go on in a person's head to do such a thing?
How can you be proud of killing an 8 year old?
I really hope there's a Hell.

This seems to be the world we live in now. And proof that gun confiscation will not stop the violence. Deranged people will find other things to hurt innocent people.

Daniel Tapia, a graduate of my alma mater North Monterey County HS  turned in another remarkable performance at the race. From the Monterey Co. Herald;"What should have been a day of celebration for the former North Monterey County High and Hartnell College distance ace turned into one of worry and anxiety.

Tapia, running in his first Boston Marathon, had logged a breakthrough performance that morning, being the second American to cross the finish line and winding up ninth overall. His time of 2 hours, 14 minutes and 30 seconds was a personal best." We are proud of him

I choose not to focus on the shitheads who do this stuff but rather the folks that hung around to comfort the casualties not knowing if more hell was going to go off.  Was not their jobs, they are just good people.

my older son Joshua goes to Northeastern University in Boston.  Had friends miss the bombing by 5 minutes.  Their subway system is amazing and later that day was running again, just avoiding the actual blast area.

EPIC failure!  If was the intentions of the cowards that did this to kill a lot of people, they failed epically! I'm glad for that! May they fail in everything they do!  I briefly read that a big truck tried to gain access to the front of the hotel under the guise of having to deliver something but was denied.  Had that truck been able to make "it's delivery"  I suspect many more would have killed or injured?
Just don't get how/why people do this crap  :smt011

They failed if the attemp was mass murder.  Any life lost, on their behalf, was a victory to them.  The mere ability to ruffle the feathers of our country is sometimes a victory to them.

I doubt the family of the three who died consider this an epic failure.

I can't even begin to understand why anyone would do something like that.  I hope there's a special place in hell for people like that.

It's hard enough for us adults to understand, but having to explain it to my son was a lot worse.  He heard about it and started asking questions.  He also really wanted to see the pictures.  I was really selective about what pictures I showed and what I told him.  How do you explain this kind of stuff to a kid who wouldn't hurt a soul.  He asked the obvious question.  Why did they do that dad?  I gave it my best shot, but I'm not sure I really have the answer.

I hope the person or person's who did this find their special place in hell sooner than later.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll just drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience.

A coward and monster is what that person is. I'd probably lose it if my family was there. Glad to hear your cousin is ok Andy. Really hard to believe someone can think of hurting innocent people period.
