I have not been a member here a long time but I have noticed everyone is really friendly and offers a lot of help to folks so here goes...

My father in law is currently not working do to a hand injury. He has been really trying to find something to involve himself in and he does like to fish. I recently got my first kayak to dive from and my lack of knowledge of yak fishing along with the fact that I only have one kayak has me posting this.

Is there anybody in the Vacaville, Davis, Sac area who has an extra kayak and would offer to take out my father in law and show him the ropes? I know he would love it and he is to humble to post and ask. I have been encouraging him to log on and post a request to go out. I will even offer to cover any costs, gas, bait etc. Of course I would love to tag along as well and learn some myself, been fishing my whole life but not from a kayak. Any help would be appreciated.   -Matt

Too bad I'm no longer live in Benicia but I'm sure there'll be people close to your area with extra yak offer to help.

I'll be moving to Winters in a couple weeks and would be happy to take him and you out on Lake Solano once I get moved in. I have a couple S-O-T's, and he's welcome to use one. I also have all the equipment he'll need - paddle, PFD, etc. If he can wait until the beginning or middle of May or so. Only cost will be parking - $5.00.
You can get just as drunk on water
As you can get on dry land.

What does your dad want to fish for?  I might be able to take him out.

If anyone has only one and needs another and has transport capabilities they can take mine.

I only got a one car carrier system. But would help out if I can.

Appreciate the replies guys, I think he would be open to fish for anything, I know he got really excited when I mentioned stripers at the port of Sac but he would enjoy anything. I will be seeing him Wednesday and plan on "forcing" him to sign on lol. I will contact as soon as I talk with him.

Just let any of us Sac guys know when. Between all of us we will have an extra kayak to use and get you guys out to explore the Port. Only question is you mention he has a hand injury, will he be able to paddle a kayak ok?

Yes he can paddle, it will be his first time in a kayak so the easiest launch would be the best.

What about the afternoon of Saturday the 27th? Low tide is 1:08 pm@ 1.5' and high is 6:36pm @ 6.9' so we can fish the incoming. This weekend is looking a little windy with 12-15mph winds. The launch at the port is super easy.

I will be chatting with him on Wednesday and will see if that weekend works, I know he will start telling me he doesn't want to trouble anybody but once I convince him the guys are cool and want to get him out he will go and I guarantee be bit by the bug and be kayaking/fishing from then on.
