Derby day was supposed to see wind but, luckily, it didn't happen until well into the afternoon when Mother Nature turned the fan on at the High position.

Even Caitlyn got in on the goods. :) Liked the way Jim found ways to reward people for participating: catching fish, picking up trash, simply participating.

On the way home and almost at my exit to Fremont on I-680, the gusty winds caused a power boat to de-trailer in the carpool lane, creating the start of a massive traffic jam. Anybody know anyone missing a power boat today?  :smt010

Be well, folks.

Yes thanks Howard for all the pics & also to Jim for running the tourney! Had a great time camping & fishing. Seems like everybody liked Pleasure Cove well enough. It's a pretty decent spot & I'm thinking about going back before it gets super hot. Also congrats to the winner/Halibutking & placers for kicking azz.

Wow, Wat another Great Turnout and Slam we had at the Slam. The Wx was beautiful All weekend, fish were biting, and like always the NCKA Love and Vibe was at its best. I started my trip leaving work from Woodland and got to Pleasure Cove around 430 and Loaded Down. My Dad, his gf, couzin, and uncle already had the cabin and were ready to get fishing when I got there. After unpacking, and meeting a few of my Ncka bros, it was time to show my family wat Berryessa is all about. We launched the boat and not even 5 minutes into fishing we hook are first fish! A nice trout. It was Wide Open fishing on trout and kokes for the next 2 hours before we called it quits at dusk. we came in with 3 fish but hooked double that and missed a few more. :smt007. A great start to our weekend to come. That night we ate and drank like kings and were later greeted by a Family of Racoon's which didn't want to leave and ended up making a mess of our place the first night! Sat. came and it was a Beautiful day. It actually got pretty warm and few of us got burnt!=Nice! why? cause the bass where everywhere in the shallows! :smt001 Sat morning fishing was completely different and tuffer than the evening before and we only managed 2 trout. Came in for a nice lunch and Nap. My cousin HalibutKing/Daniel went out on his yak sat. evening and got a pretty good bite on bass. Sat. evenings Potluck was Off the Hook like Always and It was Very Kool seeing everyone together. Man I love these Events!..

Sunday tournament day I was able to get out with All the other competitors and do some fishing off the yak for once!...The wx again on Sunday was just Perfect and couldn't ask for much more. Unfortunately for me, the koke king was unable to even get a bite from any Salmonoids! WTF!.. :smt002...But i was able to scratch up an almost limit of bass until my 5th one jumped out on me when on the trough! NOOOOOO! :smt010...Halibutking on the other Hand had a Much more exciting morning then me. Ill let him tell his story and post his Pics. Im still shocked but proud of him!

All in All, It was a good turnout and another great Slam at the Berry. I want to Congratulate All the Winners that was Fun and Impressive. I want to Thank All the Sponsors for there continued support and sponsorship, without them, none of this would be possible. I want to thank all my extended family in NCKA who showed up and who participated. To all the cooks for the great food! Im still full! And lastly but not leastly, I want to give Much Special Thanks to our brother Jim/Rockfish for helping me and for taking control of BSS3 this year. Without Jim and All of his hardwork on this, BSS would have not went down this year. But it did and wat a Great Great Job Jim Did. Lets All make sure we Thank Jim Big time for not only Getting the Slam up and going this year but for the Whole FreshKat Series and All that he has done and is gonna do for us this year.

Man, I cant believe Its already All Over. Pleasure Cove was a completely different place waking up Monday morning and going fishing. There was absolutely NO ONE there other then us. And the fishing was back to wide open again that morning! Here come the Pics...Warning Pic heavy!.....Fishworks out............Looking forward to the Next Big One!

Thanks to Chavez Nation for the delicious venison. How many people tried the pikeminnow and really thought it tasted like catfish?  :smt005

What a fun weekend it was at the BSS3. Thanks Jim and Ricci for all your hard work you both put into making this event a joyful one. Congrats to all the winners and to those who caught some fish. My daughter said thank you for the prizes and that she had a wonderful time. See you all soon.
