I have always loved fishing. When I was a kid I jumped at every chance to go fishing. I would ride my bike for miles and miles just to go catch some bluegills from Gibson Ranch. We would spend every Easter break out on the Sacramento River at the free ramp just down river from Clarksburg and I would be on the boat, soakin bait from the shore, or searching the rocks at low tide for tackle to fill my tackle box.

Over the years life/responsibility happens and seems to take you away from the things that you use to love doing. It's not until I slowed down and reflected on what is truly important that I realized I am a better person when I make the time to get back to what I love doing.

Finding NCKA has really ignited that passion (madness) again in me. I am constantly either researching or thinking about fishing. I am always looking to see if any hookups or reports have been made on the boards. Not to mention I have not met anyone from NCKA that I did not like.  Almost everyone I have met either OTW or just chilling after we get OffTW immediately seem like old friends. I have had people I have never met offer up their house for me to crash and take me out and show me how to dive. That stuff just doesn't happen everywhere and I feel lucky to be apart of it.

So to those I have met thanks for being good people and to those I haven't met I look forward to meeting and doing some fishing with ya.

Thanks for making NCKA such an awesome group for all to join and feel like they are part of something bigger.

+1
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Rider, that is cool that you say that, I have not been that nuts about it,  but I would go to Cabo for tuna and Dorado, but here in the Bay area I was not much into it, I used to go fishing for salmon, halis, lings, sharks, and the Nov crabbing trips, with Bret's dad (nosoup4you) who was not only a great person but a fine fisherman too. after he passed away I did not feel that fishing was as fun anymore untill I started hanging out with the NCKA family, now Bret and I talk about trying several things with the kayaks and different fishing methods . The fun is back.  the sharing of whatever knowledge you may have and the get togethers , the sharing of meals with everybody.
You just don't break bread with anybody, you do it with your family and good friends.

Well said James!
Yak fishing is just plain fun, it totally brings back the fun memories of riding bikes to the fishing hole as kids!
It's the simple stuff that makes me happy! :smt004
