In the normal conversation, I ask the them if they are on NCKA, if not, I refer them to ncka.org, than explain that it stands for Nor Cal Kayak Anglers. From that point in the conversation I refer to the site as Nor Cal. I guess the only reference I seldom use is norcalkayakers.com

See Ya Soon,

Exactly the way I do in conversations.

1 and 2.  1 is reserved for people "in the know" and 2 is for directing people I meet on the water to the site.

If this question is about how to get people to recognize the site within the logo... NCKA.org is a no brainer IMO.  Easy to remember and short...  The kind of thing you can see on a window sticker while going 65mph and still remember.

TWSSB~The Way Society Should Be
If someone saw NCKA on a hoodie next to the logo it would be just some letters next to a logo.
But of they saw NCKA.org next to that very same logo they could take it a step further all on their own.
I ask people if they know about Nor Cal kayak Anglers then refer them to NCKA.org

While I see the utilitarian use for NCKA.org, there's something about it that I just don't identify with.  It's interesting to note, that of the 55 voters, only 11 voted for NCKA.org.  It's also interesting to note that ncka.org (or norcalkayakanglers.com) shows up as the #1 search result for "ncka", or "california  kayak fishing", for that matter.

In practice, I rarely see the direct use of a "shorter form" site for brand recognition.  It actually causes more confusion IMO.

NCKA is the obvious one and it shows with 43 of 55 voting for it.

Then we're split between Nor Cal Kayak Anglers (or is it NorCal?) and NorCalKayakAnglers.com.  For me I gravitated towards NorCalKayakAnglers.com because I didn't gravitate towards NCKA.org.  Whenever I engage with people about NCKA, I always introduce it formally as NorCalKayakAnglers.com and then put NCKA in parentheses.

I always say NorCalKayakAnglers, then add for simplicity "just type in NCKA.org."

My vote for the graphic header on the site itself is just NCKA

I also direct people to NCKA.org, but only because I think it's easier for them to remember than norcalkayakanglers.com.

For identity sake, we're NCKA.
