It really is a shame that people want to ruin this great fishery.
The water in this river was diverted to supply water for the Ag industry and the lower stretches have been dry for 50+ years. Now they want to kill the river again to replace it with a cold water system to "TRY" to reintroduce Salmon into the system.

The plan to reintroduce salmon is doomed to fail, there is just no way to get enough water flows for them to thrive. The biggest thing I want for the river is just more public access.
