I have Wednesday marked as yak/fish day. Thinking of chasing stripers at Franks Tract but I'm open to suggestions.  My local flyshop says the bite is good. Anyone else free?  I'm leaving from Berkeley.   Gabekap

Wish I could go. I have heard nothing but great reports from friends and friends that are guides.

I'm planning on launching from russo's around 9 to catch the 11 o'clock high tide for LMB and probably finish up around 1 or 2...

Great. I'll meet you there. I haven't fished for LMB before. What do you use?

I'm no bass expert, but I like drop shotting robo worms and wacky rigged senkos. I saw yakhopper's toad that he caught on a jig, so I'm gonna bring a few of those too! see u out there...

I'll join you guys.  Will be dropping off the kids at school and arrive around 9am.

I've never been there before.  Do I just park at the marina, pay launch fee and get OTW?
If you have any helpful info, would appreciate it.  Will call y'all on Ch. 69.

Cool, see you out there John!

Yes just park at the marina, then pay $10 at the office. I like to back my truck onto the launch ramp and unload. Set up, park the truck and off we go! Pretty easy!

I park on the levee next to the office set up on the levee, wheel down into the water and go. That way I don't tie up the ramp for all the bass boats. But it's a weekday and you might not run into too many people. Just what I do.

If you launch at Sugar Barge and park on the levee and wheel your kayak down it only costs $5.  But if you drive on the ramp then it is $10.

The people at Russos are great. The store at the dock should have what you need. Watermelon or green flake senkos wacky or texas rigged.  White Gold spinner baits as well. Hang a right at the orange windsock as you enter Franks from Russos and fish the tules all the way down. You can nose right up in the tules and fish the pockets. When the tules get sparse bring out the spinner bait and roll it right through. Don't go out with 10 lb mono. You want 40-65# braid.
