I made a few alterations to the yak since my maiden voyage at Collins Lake.  I added a tackle storage area by putting a small bucket in my middle hatch and making a tray for it.  I see everybody has a milk crate in back for storage so I added that.  My fish finder is an oldy but until I can replace it with a Lowrance Elite 4 the old one will have to suffice.  I just bungie corded it up out of the way of my feet.  I   added scupper plugs because the small amount of water that did get in got my towel wet and I did lose a sinker through the hole.  My rod holder is now adjusted to clear the paddle and I figured out the best position/adjustment for my seat.  I added a strap to the wheels because I ran up against a rock and the boat slide off the wheels.  So now I think I’m ready to go give it a try.  Trolling with a paddle vs peddles still seems like a lot of work but I think I’ll figure out how to make it work.  I’m sure all you long time kayakers have heard this stuff before so bear with me.  A few photos…

The new "close at hand" tackle storage hatch.

A few bungies and there's room for my size 12's.

Lots of room for.......anything!

Just add water and fish!!

We all have been there tiring to find what works best that’s half the fun in my opinion. As for Paddle trolling its not so bad you will get the hang of it pretty quickly :smt006.

Looking good. Over time you will find what works for you. Paddle and trolling will come naturally in time. You'll never even think about it. You will just do it.

Really like the extra hatch inside your hatch!  Might have to steal that idea for my boat  :smt003

Yeah that basket in a bucket idea looks good, keep that bucket from becoming a rats nest.
