This potluck will be SERIOUS!  We're talking about around 300 people or more, potentially.  Plan for your dish to give a bit of food to 4 or 5 dozen people if possible.  Last year I announced at the awards/potluck that it's been a common experience to have to throw away lots of food at the end, and to please take your dish when you leave.  No one wants the leftovers (usually), so please plan to pack-it-in/pack-it-out!   :smt001

It's a competition on some levels - will YOUR dish get "sold out"?...   :smt003

NovatoDave and I are in with plenty of waterfowl.  My usual BBQ duck will be changed to goose breast (trialed at the Moss Landing salmon opener and it was a hit).  Dave is bringing 'ducks from hell' so be ready to have your sinuses opened. :smt002

Hey guys, its gonna be my first time to the cove.  Do you guys know if there are any public grills available at the campsite?  I don't own a portable grill nor have the space in my carpooler's car to fit a grill for this trip.

The reason is, I plan on bringing home marinated korean bbq ribs, but they won't taste as good if I precook them so I was kind of hoping to let them marinate and cook them fresh for everyone to enjoy at the potluck.

OR if someone has a portable grill they're willing to let me use briefly at the potluck, you will be rewarded with first crack at these delicious bbq.  You won't be disappointed!   :smt003

just bring the meat.  Yumyum.  There are plenty of people who will be bringing grills, and I'm sure you can find one to use.
I'm Korean, so I will offer myself to test the food for doneness if you like.   :smt044

John's right that you'll find someone with grill space, but if you don't then you are welcome to my Weber, Won.  I'll have it ready to go at the potluck - get there early and you should be set.  :smt001

Great, thanks Eric.  I figure its going to be madness once people start eating/cooking at the potluck so I was trying to figure out my options.  I will get there early and use your weber if I cannot find anyone else.

And John, just follow the scent trail and you're welcome to test it out for me.

Far better to bring your own BBQ and not rely on someone elses if you can.  It gets to be a mad house at the potluck trying to get all the food cooked.  Do it in your camp if you can and bring to the potluck.

I'm sure there will be a battery of grills set up at Mario's Motel.  It was a veritable multicultural bar be que there last year.  Definitely grill right before the pot luck.

I'm making a stop at Lockeford Sausage Company this weekend. Any preferences? Smoked Dakaota Bratwurst, or Kielbasa, Italian (mild or hot), Apple, or Pesto, or Swedish Potato, Hawaiian Luau, or Beer Brat or Wisconson Brats, or  Jalapeno, or Cajun Andouille?
