Kayak=$900
Paddle=$300+
Rudder=$200
VHF=$200
Wheeleez=$200
Dry Bag=$30
PDF=$75
Rack=$200
Drysuit=?
Flares=?

The list is endless.......

When I look at my account I'm thinking "whoa", but when I'm fishing or browsing for tackle I forget. I'm sure many of you have exceeded my expense list (or maybe I'm wrong). What do you call this? Addiction? Fishing? Crazy? Am I spending too much? Maybe its the wrong sport for my budget? LOL! I'm new to yakking, but I've got the bug!

Once you reap the benefits of being on the water under your own plan you will realize the value.  That's my experience.   :smt001

Times 5? Makes me feel a bit better, but I'm laughing because I know I'm headed that way.

Being OTW is time well spent indeed. I hope I get to experience planning and using different rigs/techniques that are successful. From fishing though, I've found the value is in the memories I've had from being out with friends, family, and thats with fish or no fish.

Thanks for the thoughts!

at least you don't have to pump $50.00 in fuel every time you take it out.

Add to that the fact that some kayak fishers release almost all the fish they land makes one question the sane-ness of it all!
Hence the MADNESS! :smt044

+1 and to the posts about the wife. Most husbands will NEVER know how much cash their wife spends shopping. The same can be said for how much we spend on our NEEDS!! However, our nedds provide table fare, at least sometimes!!!

All hobbies are expensive. This is by far one of my cheapest hobbies, plus I get exercise and therapy all at the same time. Get into racing or guns and then you will see what expensive is lol, the wife definatly didn't like those  :smt003
