since no one has made a report I'll bite. Windy, Windy, Windy. Had an awesome time hanging out with everyone friday night. Rider brought some good suds for us to enjoy, some enjoyed a little more than others. I finally made it to bed around midnight. Saturday was insanely windy. I started off crossing the main body. I headed in a cove to ditch the wind and it looked really fishy. I hit it with everything I had but came up short. With building wind and an up wind paddle back to the ramp I decided it was time to hit it. I noticed a nice looking rock wall that looked like smallmouth heaven but was hell to get to. A direct path would have been about a mile but with the wind and waves it was more like 3 miles. I set up my drift down the rock wall and waited for the gusts to die down. 2 drift I gat a good strike so I reset. 3rd drift with a 4" big hammer in bubble gum pink on a red 1/2oz head I got a nice 16 1/4" smally. I reset a few more times and got some more strikes. With a wife and baby back at the trailer I decided to hit it early and got back to the ramp at 11:30. before I left the spot I ran in to vWool and gave him all my intell. Bad move for me, I still had big fish but he beat me with 2 smaller fish. Of corse we all were put in our places by  Mr. Dan Cantrell, He was first on the water and the only one to get 5 fish. If he comes to shasta lake I'm making it a team event, him vs everyone else. :smt044
It was a great event, great people, great food and I took 3rd. First time camping with the baby too.

Thanks for kicking off the posts jbaker!
What a windfest it was at Black Butte for the tourney.
Oh what fun we had on Fri nite! :smt005
It's always fun to hang with my NCKA bros!
I slept in the car and was feeling it rock from the gusts all nite.
Got up late and on the water even later. :smt044
Basically got skunked, with the exception of a parasite laden Pike Minnow.
Went back out Sat. eve. with Rider for glassy conditions, got a lot of fly casting practice = no fish.
Hey Hojo, Olivia really loves her bear - Thanks!

Great job on the limit Dan!!

Yeah the wind sucked once again, I never got any sleep Friday night after partying with everyone.  Needless to say I was not ready to be on the kayak in all that wind.  I made the mistake of crossing to the other side only to have to deal with all that wind coming back right into my face.

Oh well, still had a blast.

And who lent me the SD memory card?  Send me a PM so I can get it back to you.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

A bit lonely on Friday for most of the afternoon. James (Rider), Joe (Sandbag), and I had the huge site to ourselves. Shower facilities and flush toilets...what more can you ask for, other than less wind?
