Paper Tuning a Bow

I did some research on the internet on paper tuning a compound bow.
It's where you shoot from close range, 3-5 yards, through a piece of paper to see if your arrow passes through cleanly. Well, mine was not.
I used paper from a magazine. Easy to tear out each page as I needed paper. I found I was getting more distinguishing tears when I doubled the paper. One sheet was tearing like crazy and no matter what adjustment I used it didn't make much of a difference. I think one sheet was too thin. As soon as I went to doubling the sheets I was able to tune it in to get the desired results.
After several shots and tuning each time I finaly got it to pass through cleanly and consistantly.
It made a HUGE difference on my shots from 20-50 yards too.
The arrow flight seems to be much more true and my grouping is much more concentrated (poker chip size from 40 yds).
If you get a chance to do it, do it.

I used to shoot a lot back in the day.  My shoulders won't let me draw more than 40 pounds anymore, but used to shoot a 70 pound bow all the time.
