Went out with my buddy on Tuesday to crab and spearfish in Pacifica.  The water was calm, and the ocean was generous.  We each limited on crabs and got a few Striped perch on the spears.  It was a great day on the water, can't wait to get back out there!

Thanks!  The sets were fairly small, but pretty frequent.  I mistimed when I went out to drop off  my crab pots and took a bunch of 2-3 footers to the chest.  Luckily everything on board was locked down, otherwise my pots would have been placed a bit earlier than planned...in the breakers!

Nice haul!
On the perch, how far from the shore are they?
Is that a good place to go surf perching? Been trying for them at Monterey by Fort Ord and I just can't hook on to them.
Thanks for the report.

The perch were in a rocky area about a 1/4 mile out of the main Linda Mar beach.  I don't know how good the spot is normally for perch, but it seemed decent.  We didn't head out to San Pedro on Tuesday, but I think I will at a future time.  The vis wasn't great, maybe 5 feet to just make out the starfish on the rocks

Nice catch.  It's good to have something to do while waiting for the crabs pots to fill up.

Surf launch give me the willies.  You really brought Pacific to it's knees.  Nice haul.
