So after about a month of gathering everything I wanted to get Yum Yum rigged up the way I wanted,I finally pulled her down from the rafters and started getting her ready.  So far I am pretty happy with the way she turned out. I still have a couple more mods that I want to do but they must wait for me to secure some more WAF points :smt008

Elite 4 on an extended ram mount. 8" yakattack GT90 rail & backing plate. 1.5" ball with ram tube (won in a sweet deal on ebay).

4 - 1.25" PVC rod/net holders

View from the back with milk crate (locking lid)

Wet mount base installed just forward of rear hatch 4" PVC

4" rubber cap with transducer mounted and sealed with silicone.

Can't wait to hit black butte this Friday

Also added sail rudder and turbo fins.

Here's some more mods and some that have been completed. This is a lot of fun but I am reay for some water damnit!!!

Wet mount transducer sealed, filled with water, & ready to GO!

Battery box

The battery box will be secured to the hull with Velcro on the hull and battery box - Tip: heat up the Velcro and the surface applying the Velcro. If not it will pull up

The batteries and battery box have Velcro so the battery does not slide inside the box.

Water proof quick connectors for easy hookup.

For the wet mount it a 4" PVC pipe cut to 3" and 4" rubber cap.

Figure out where you want the ducer to sit mark and drill 2 small holes. They cut an X where the cable will go though the cap. Push the cable through the cap then attach the ducer mount to the cap. One everything is set seal it all with silicone. Let dry for about 24 hours the pour in the water and put the cap on and tighten down.

If you have any other questions let me know its a pretty simple instal.

Good luck

You have some cool ideas.  Modifying my yak is one of my favorite aspects to this sport/hobby.

One cheap mod I can recommend is to spray the two mesh nets on the sides with those fix-a-leak rubber spray. You can get one from Home Depot under Rustoleum brand. Back then, every time I changed lures I would put them behind those nets and they'd get tangled with the hooks and such PITA to separate. No problems now.

Would that work to rubberize a standard fishing net? I like to tie double hook rigs for Kokes and the stupid things snag every time and getting the first hook untangled only to pull the second one right back in to the same snag is a pain!
And you could hear me screaming a mile away as I was headed out for the door....

How did that transducer work for you at Black Butte?

The clarity was awesome. I don't think the temp was accurate as it was reading in the 70's. not to concerned about the temp myself but others may be.

Hey Rider, temp will not be accurate unless the transducer is in the water under your yak.
Even then your only measuring the surface temp. - probably not too helpful.

Surface temp is useful Tony. Especially for bass. I use HB FF's. The ducer I use has an external temp cable I run through a scupper hole behind my seat of the Tarpon. Transducer is still inside my boat.
