They are still having the meetings and developing the options.  I doubt that date is set in stone yet.

I believe 4/6 is for both SF and MB? It's pretty much confirmed from Coastside.

Here is what DFG site says today.

"The recreational fishery for ocean salmon is closed statewide. The 2013 season for ocean waters will be decided in April 2013 by the Pacific Fishery Management Council and the California Fish and Game Commission."

Rob's right.  There are update threads on Humboldt Tuna Club from the guys who are actually at the meetings.  We're hoping for early April at Shelter Cove and early May at Eureka/Trinidad, and it looks like it'll happen.  Word is that this year there are less fish overall, but there are more big 4 and 5 year olds.  It should be a good year.   :smt001

I plan to do some crabbing this month a few weeks to get my ass out onto the ocean as many times as I can before GS7...I will definitely be hitting the Salmon opener at Shelter Cove too (and for the few weeks leading up to GS7)

I'm amped!

Wonder if my little Scotty Lake downrigger will work out in the blue...
