I head a story on the radio that said the Japanese arent eating as much herring roe anymore so its not as profitable.  The story also spoke about how they are trying to bring herring to local restaurants and make it more popular locally so the money can be made here and less damage to the roe.

I stocked up on herring from Crescent City again.  I did 3 colors and have well over 2000 baits.  I went last Saturday and was getting more than a 5 gallon bucket full in one cast when they came to the rocks and started spawning leaving the water milky white.
