I live in Vacaville so there is not much water real close. I would like to check out the Lindsey Slough but I don't see much access. Does anyone know if it is possible or recomended to launch where it crosses highway 113? Also, are there any other nearby Kayak fishing opportunities? Thanks ken

That's the only access to Lindsey slough unless you launch by river road ferry up dwc towards cache stay to left takes you to Lindsey. Parking always a negative thou unless you get dropped off & picked up

I'm your Huckleberry  :smt006  I live in Vacaville as well.  I have launched several times at 113.  The West side leads to a dead end slough, but the pool actually has some decent cats during the summer.  The East launch goes through what looks to be fishy water at first, but I have yet to catch a fish there, but is a good place to drop some mud bug traps.  Keep going past the opening and you get to some good pads / hydrilla that have LMBs.  Lots of sores on them, but fun to catch!  I have never had an issue with my truck parked on the side.

As Novo mentions, Berryessa is where it is at for local, but River Road launch gets you on Salmon, Sturgeon, Striper, LMBs, Crappie, and Blue Gills/Red Ears FAST!  Also a free easy launch at 3 mile slough I can give you the details on.

Drop me a PM and I can fill you in more.  Also, more than willing to help a local Vacavillian out on my next adventure and don't mind a tag along.  I'll share what limited knowledge I have of local fisheries :smt002

Thanks guys. Good to here from some fellow Vacans. I will be up for trying some spots as soon as I figure out which end is which.  :smt003 Maybe take the wife to Lagoon Valley this weekend or Lake Solano for the maiden voyage. Then I need to get my fishing tackle together. It's only been 30 years or so. I wonder where my tackle box is. Ken

Lots of sloughs , launch from Suisun boat ramp or  Grizzly Is. and troll rattletraps real close to shore for stripers .

Hit Lake Solano for mostly just a paddle and to get out , no fish ! No surprise as it has not been stocked in a few years at least .  :smt013

Look for the small creek just down stream of L. Solano Park , interesting spot !

I plan to go to the Berryessa Salmon Slam on April 14th. If any other local guys are going, that would be a great meet and greet.

Here is a link to the salmon slam topic.
