Grim,

Here is a couple things I discovered going through RnD with my swim bait.

1- The tail mid section might be a little to thick. Prop up your mold on the tail side and re-pour. Try a few different angles. This will thin it out a bit to allow for more action.

2. Thin out the thickness of the tail. I too went thick with the tail but it wouldn't swim right at all speeds, only fast or on the drop. That might be OK for jigging but the swimming action was also a goal. To fix, I got a hot plate and an old pan. Once the pan is hot press the tail down till you get a thickness that swims at every speed.

3. once you get a couple exactly where they need to be, re-pour two or more perfectly. Use these as your production mold.

Oh ya, that octo bait looks tight! if you still giving one out, Ill take it in dark red and white bottom. PM your address and I'll send you a few of my 7.5" swim baits. Let me know your color(s). Mike

Thanks for tips! Sending pm

Damn that rigged up octo looks AWESOM!  I'm not to big (Yet) on ocean fishing at the moment, but that thing? I want to bite it!  :smt044  I can't imagine any fish not attacking it on sight!

The way I rigged the octo:

That's 8oz. ball
2 split rings
2 10\0 owners

Up to 10oz. Fits perfect in the nose. The lead and eye are not visible as you can see.
Jesse,
So where do you tie your line to? Where do you penetrate the octo?
Thanks for the sample and rigging tips!

These are SOOO cool. I wonder if you could post more info on how you make these. This would be a fun project for sure. Any websites where you can get more info on making these? Tried Google, but didn't come up with much.

Very cool stuff!

These are very nice. I have been looking around for octopus lures/swimbaits. These should definitely work killer on lings.

I am in the final stages of having the website up for these. My Buddy is wrestling with the Paypal and open cart code for me at the moment. If you guys are interested in Octo baits or 12" swimbaits, let me know the colors you want and I will have them ready to go out. I have a ton of colors for swimbaits and I also made a lipstick red/natural octopus color now too.
I can also add glow in the dark pigment to any of the baits as well. The swimbaits come with a glass and steel rattle poured into the tail.
Thanks

I have a webpage up and running with my baits, adventureswest.net.  There is a link in my signature.

I am planning on bringing quite a few baits to GS7 as well.
