Excellent class -- well worth it, especially for newbs.

Also, Wil Sumner of the US Coast Guard Aux would like to remind everyone to mark your name & phone # visibly on the decks of your yaks:

Last year we came across 3 kayaks with no names and contact so had to initiate SAR cases for each.  This is very expensive.

Bumping this to the top again and just to clarify, this is not a hands-on paddling course; it's a classroom safety seminar, although there should be a basic demonstration at the dock.

Its great for learning some of the navigational markers & terms and, of course, safety on the water. Cold water survival skills are stressed, which is important in our area.

We met some of the CG folks at Tomales this past weekend. They gave us some of the orange stickers to label our yaks.

An older short guy mentioned your name, Aaron.

I think that was Wil, who sent this info.
