just cashed out some WAF points for an elite 4

After testing the elite 4 at sws I am very happy with the unit.  Should have the dsi version in the water soon to test.  Got but off for a bit with rigging my AI and other winter projects.  You will be happy with the sacrifice of WAF points for the elite 4.

I would defiantly marine goop the SD flap. I have the exact same unit and I took a swim up here in OR a month back coming in. Sneaker wave picked up my Outback and threw it ass end up in the surf. My SD flap came open somewhere in the fray and the entire inside of the unit filled up with saltwater. That was that.
Thankfully Lowrance is a freaking awesome company and they sent me a brand new unit, transducer and all, in about 10 days. All I had to do was ship mine back to them. I was luckily within warranty.
Once I got my new unit I filled the port on the back I don't use with dielectric grease, and marine gooped my SD slot closed.

- Med size sharpy cap works fine for a cable plug cover.
- Make sure you add some dielectric grease.
- I used a thin smear of reg silicone on the sd door, waterproofed and peels off real easy when I need to upgrade my Google waypoints.
- check out the ram connection for the Mark4, Elite 4&5. It's $27.99 at west marine, $ well spent in my opinion. Plus they price match
