Any Reports? Flows?
Where is the best spot to park for a days fishing hopefully safe gonna have my bike in the back doing a ride on Tuesday.
Used to fish it a lot at Howe and Paradise.

For shore fishing your best bet is probably Sailor Bar or Upper Sunrise both are the upper upper stretch of the AR and are probably the best producers for the steelies right now. The last couple of days have been slower than a week or so ago but those two places are probably your best bet. Sailor right by the boat ramp is probably the safest spot or Upper Sunrise gravel parking lot right next to the bike trail.

Flows - 2200's which is pretty good as far as fishing wise is concerned.Enough flow to keep the fish coming up but not to much to blow everything out.

*Remember your steelie card as well- DFG is out in full force.

First picture is Sailor Bar lot-
There are a couple parking lots but if you can park right by the ramp or close to it there is plenty of foot traffic and not to much problems with the cars.

Second picture is Upper Sunrise gravel lot.
Its right next to the bike trail,it has lots for foot traffic and people out and about especially on the weekend to keep an eye on the car.

Directions
Sailor bar-
Hwy 50 (east) to Hazel exit (turn left)
Left on Winding Way
Left on Illinois Ave
Follow it all the way to the end

Upper Sunrise
Hwy 50 (east) to Sunrise Blvd (turn left)
Right on South Bridge street
Drive through the entrance park booth and stay right at the stop sign
Gravel parking lot and restrooms

Thanks, Eric. I've always been reluctant to fish the A.R. because of (car) safety concerns.

The majority of steelhead are being caught up above Sunrise. Below the Hatchery on the South side has the biggest concentration of fish right now. Also Sailor Bar is producing good numbers.

The smolts were released this week by fish and game (wildlife) so down below by watt and Howe is hopping for small ones and stripers eating the smolts. 10 inch swim baits have worked for me.
Just look for the birds.
For steelies I've been using what my friend Chris uses. He has 122 steelhead so far this season.  Yeah, 122.
Orange, white, and pink yarn with a tiny orange bead.  Crazy but it works.

Thanks, Eric. I've always been reluctant to fish the A.R. because of (car) safety concerns.

I had never worried about the car before...................until tonight

Rear passenger window above the baby car-seat smashed and my wife's purse taken while we were walinkg on the trail this evening.
The car-seat was full of glass and they left my bag with a leatherman and camera that was right next to her purse???? The things I would do to a caught thief are not fit for good company!

Tomorrow I have to go get a new window...

Todays report from the river is that there were no steelhead caught and DFG is checking folks at upper sunrise (I saw the agent about 100 yards from our car).  Though they wont keep you windows from being smashed  :smt009
